The first theft occurred May 6 on North 13th Street, where a man said he saw someone driving off in his girlfriend's 2002 Jeep Liberty. The vehicle is red with New Jersey registration G19HFL.

Another vehicle theft was reported the following day, when a man told police he'd parked his white 2011 BMW on Grove Street around 11:30 p.m. The car was gone the next day, the man told police.  The registration is New Jersey K30KST.

On May 12, a black 2018 BMW, New Jersey registration E43FTJ, was taken as the owner and his wife watched. The two were walking towards the front door of their home on Essex Street when they heard a noise and turned in time to see two black males drive off in the car. It was last seen turning left onto Bay Avenue towards Glen Ridge.

All three vehicles were logged as stolen in the NCIC police database.
